PUBLIC SCHOOL: A Lesson in Collaboration

December 4th 2010, 6:00PM – 10:00PM

Masthead Print Studio will host a collaborative show featuring over 20 screenprinters, graffitti artists, graphic designers and Illustrators that are paired up to bring us their new creations. The curators chose each pair with the main objective being “Unlikely Combinations”, much like when you were in school and told to work with a stranger. James Heimer, Dan Judge, and Dan Hughes: You know their work, even if you don’t know them. Come revisit their work at Masthead Print Studio, July 17th from 6-10PM. They’ll have hand painted murals and a large wheat paste wall of their prints.

Exemplification: By Way of Illustration
An eccentric display from illustrator Sarah Goodreau, embracing the relationship between the story and the image. Only this time, finding/creating/constructing the story as an afterthought to the production of an image. The show flips the way traditional illustration works and invites you to enhance the image with the narrative.

Rock Poster Show
Featuring the Work of NoDivision

February 20th

Philadelphia based poster art collective NODIVISION will offer look into their creative process from pencil sketch to final art. A live printing demo will follow the lecture as well as an open forum to ask questions about the process. NODIVISION will also be displaying a large portion of their poster catalog and many rare and new prints will be for sale!
